Slavery was the trade of people for currency. These people who were sold were known as slaves and worked menial labour for their owners and some only received enough food and water to keep them working. Most slaves had little to no luxuries and were generally sold as a child and had no life except from what their master wished them to do. The life of the slave generally depended on the location they worked in. On farms the slaves would be forced to cultivate and replant the farmers plantation, normally the larger the plantation the harsher life the slave experienced. In towns, slaves were more for household chores. These slaves were normally treated and fed better, some were even considered part of there masters family. Other slaves would tend to a shop and learn business skills. These slaves normally were thought of driving away business, but they did get slightly more freedom.
